I discovered a new social networking site, quite by accident, when perusing a couple of sex blogs. (Yes, blogs about sex. *gasp*) Anyway, I looked at the front page, cocked my head to the side and squinted my eyes at it, then straightened, brow furrowed and continued to stare. Huh. They have a social networking site. Very cool, my mind said. Very cool, indeed. I snagged the link and ran off to share with my author friends…
Now, we are all poking it with a stick as we decide who will be the first to jump into fetlife. (www.fetlife.com) I know that there are several blogs I read whose masters/mistresses hop on over there so I’m curious if they read my blog and want to comment on the site. Wendy? Avah? Jefferson? (though he is in the middle of moving)
So, I guess until we hear from an actual member that the bdsm authors won’t get flogged for having book writing as a fetish, we’ll all continue poking the site with our imaginary sticks.

Fetlife is pretty interesting. It is basically, IMO, ‘the scene’, just, online. The scene itself is a microcosm of real life, so its got the same ups and downs as any social networking site, just on a smaller scale.
That being said, I’ve met some awesome people over there who’s blogs I now read and who’s twitters I follow, like Thursday’s Child, and her husband Narration By D, and Ellie Lumpesse and her boyfriend, and Marcello (who is quite yummy), and some of the discussion groups are more interesting than the one’s I’ve gone to IRL.
And so far, the fucktard contingent is pretty low.

I’m fairly antisocial on the internet so I really don’t use it at all and am really only connected to people I know in real life or bloggers who I read or who read me.
At the same time I rarely use Facebook and Myspace as well.
