Stupidland: Grocery Shopping

October 29th, 2007 by Celia

Adventures in Stupidland…  Population: Celia

So, what happens when you go grocery shopping without a grocery list and you have a mind that tends to wander?  You end up buying steak sauce for the steak you wanted to buy when you walked into the grocery store before deciding half-way through your shopping that you wanted to have cubed steak with white gravy instead.  Um, yeah.

Write lists people.

Friday Flash Fiction

October 26th, 2007 by Celia

So, the AMP authors have started a bit of a thing to do on Friday’s.  Friday Flash Fiction!  Woot!

The general guidelines are that you do up to 750 words of anything you want.  I’m not that adventurous, at least not yet.  So I’ll do anywhere from 100 to 750 words.  :D   Don’t want to strap myself into something I can’t handle.  LOL

Yum

Lick, lap, suck, flick.

Savannah slid her tongue along his length, savoring his musky flavor and scent. She reached the end of his shaft and dipped her tongue into his tiny slit, earning her a gasp from Jacob. He dug his fingers into her hair and she smiled, rubbing her lips on the head of his cock. Salty drops of pre-come painted her lips and she savored his gift.

“Annah, please.”

Giving in, she opened her mouth wide and let his cock slide past her lips and slip along the flat pad of her tongue until he nudged the back of her throat. She retreated, giving him shallow dips and slides. She wouldn’t let him back there, not yet. He hadn’t earned that kind of blow job.

Okey dokey. That’s it for me. Not much, but I was just feeling in the half-of-a-bj kind of mood. Drop your info in the box if you’re participating!

Aspen Mountain Press: Open Call (Del Fantasma Series)

October 25th, 2007 by Celia

Aspen Mountain Press is launching a new paranormal series and is asking for submissions.

Word count: 5K–100K
Format: eBooks
Editor: Nikita Gordyn
Genre: Contemporary Paranormal Romance
Can be a heterosexual couple, GBLT, ménage, etc. Mainstream with romantic elements will be considered. Very sexy/sensual is what we’re looking for. Both graphic and non-graphic will be considered.

Story guideline:

The main characters have to do something at the bar to tie it together. They know the proprietor, who is a vampire (Cody Warren was turned while in the military serving in Afghanistan). Humans can go in to see the paranormals or two (or three) paranormal characters, meet outside the bar, etc, but at some point both the bar and Cody must be in a scene.

Stories from Del Fantasma in Vista Loma, California

Del Fantasma is a bar just north of Point Loma, California, known for its ghosts and otherworldly experiences. The owner and bartender, Cody Warren knows a thing or two about the supernatural. While stationed in Afghanistan, Cody was rescued and later turned into a vampire. He is the sole owner of Del Fantasma and the hours suit him just fine. He has normal clients and otherworldly clients, and a knack for matchmaking that would rival any bona fide yenta. After ten years of bringing couples together, not much surprises Cody. He’s certainly heard every tale of love gone right and wrong over the years. In fact, he can recall a tale for nearly every drink he mixes.

They know the proprietor, who is a vampire (Cody Warren was turned while in the military serving in Afghanistan). Humans can go in to see the paranormals or two (or three) paranormal characters, meet outside the bar, etc, but at some point both the bar and Cody must be in a scene.

Examples: Sex on the Beach: a mermaid and her true love (general idea only), Kentucky Tornado: the city meets the country in a tale of horse-trading (general idea only), Harvey Wallbanger, White Russian, Kiss in the Dark, Fuzzy Navel, Tequila Sunrise, Three Wise Men, Stormy Weather, Sea Breeze, Long Island Iced Tea, Pain Killer, Singapore Sling, Alabama Slammer, Aztec Punch, or any other drink that the author would like to do.

Please submit complete stories or a synopsis with the first three chapters electronically only. Be sure to include your name, mailing address and contact information to Dragoness@cogeco.ca or submissions@AspenMountainPress.com. Del Fantasma in the subject line of the email.

***********

I’ve had my short (15k) titled, Silk Panties, accepted and slotted for publication in January or February next year.  The staff has been professional and submission to acceptance went very quickly.  If you're interest, but don't know what drink to use or you see that your drink may already be taken, you can look at the following sites for ideas:  http://www.thewebtender.com or http://www.idrink.com.

I found Silk Panties on there and there are MANY other options available.  The editor, Niki, has been very responsive in answering my questions.

Woot! It’s Wednesday!

October 24th, 2007 by Celia

Note: This is the “Woot! It’s Wednesday!” post referenced yesterday. LOL

Woo Hoo!  It’s Wednesday and the week is half over.  Whew! It’s hard to compete with the announcement from Monday, so I won’t even bother.

I can tell you that I finished edits on the fourth book in my Kink & Karma series. Love Me is some hot I/R loving that makes sure Eric receives his happy ending. Go ahead, say it with me… awwwwwwww. :D

In other news, I started working on Nipped AND Tie Me to the Bedpost. Bedpost is a shortie to follow up Silk Panties and I’m jonesing to get this one in to AMP.

Silk Panties

October 21st, 2007 by Celia

Not only are they an essential article of clothing, it’s a drink too!

Ingredients:
1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
1 1/2 oz Vodka
Combine over ice, strain into shot glass.

Why am I giving you the recipe for Silk Panties?  It just so happens that Silk Panties is ALSO the title of a super short I just finished and subbed to *insert publisher name here*.

Yeah, I’m a tease, but I don’t want to put myself out there and face a totally public rejection.  Ugh!  That would suck.  In the mean time, here’s the blurb to tease ya’ll a little.

Ingredients

1/2 oz Peach Schnapps

1 1/2 oz Vodka

1 Sexy woman with a penchant for silk

Lisa Bradenton is breaking out of her shell.  What better way to take a walk on the wild-one-night-stand-side than a visit to the infamous *insert bar name*?  At the urging of her friends, Lisa goes to the bar with the hopes of finding a lover to take her mind off her ex-boyfriend.  Soon after walking through the doors she’s overwhelmed by the sexy bartender who has a quick smile, sexy eyes and deep rumbling voice.  He is definitely one-night stand material.  Definitely.

Jonathan and his inner beast crave the sexy, sultry and curvy siren’s touch.  A smile and good conversation aren’t enough for him.  Even after he’s gotten her in his bed, he still craves everything about the seductress.  Her looks reeled him in, but her uncertainty and open nature snare him forever.  But after one night of bliss, she disappears.  What the hell is he supposed to do now?  Lisa is his mate and without her, he’s lost.

I’ll let you know whether this baby is destined for the bottom drawer or a pub.

We haven’t forgotten the shelter, though. I organized an anthology with contributions from myself and 11 other authors, titled “THE POWER OF LOVE,” that will be published through Berkley in June 08, and proceeds from the sales of that book will go to the Battered Women’s Shelter.
We’ll also continue our fundraiser for the troops, including proceeds from a cookbook that I put together with donated recipes from authors, radio personalities, and a few readers, published through Samhain.
And of course, our event always includes one very special raffle for THE ANIMAL ADOPTION FOUNDATION.

We try to help as many causes as we can, and my volunteers are incredible, not to mention the readers and authors who show up and help!

If you’re an author or industry professional interested in attending, please contact me at lorilfoster@gmail.com
We’d love to include you!
Lori & Dianne

Didya see author number 36?  That’s me!!!!!  I’m gonna be in Cincinnati baybee!
