Oy! Busy with writing and webby stuff!

July 30th, 2007 by Celia

So, to keep my mind off of the status of submissions, I was a writing fiend this weekend.  From the Office of Kink & Karma: Serve Me is done folks!  (Here that editor?  You know who you are…book three is done!)  Now that the series is completed, sort of, I’m heading back to my red-headed step-child, Love of a Good Woman

In non-writing related news, I was a mad woman with creating websites this weekend.  I did the following:

www.sunshinefcc.freehyperspace.com   Look Mom!  I don’t only design porn (<-her word, not mine) writing websites.

www.destinywallace.literalseduciton.com

www.katerinaadams.literalseduction.com

I also did www.phyllismariecampbell.literalseduction.com, which I started last week and finished uploading the content over the weekend.  Whew!

Oh!  A note to Ava:  If you’re reading this…how the hell did you get your redirect working with Godaddy?  I have tried and tried to get it to work for a friend and it doesn’t want to play….  *pout*

Full Baby!

July 27th, 2007 by Celia

So, the publisher, which shall not be named, that has ‘Touch Me’ has asked for a full.  A full!  Can you believe it?  I can’t.  Somebody pinch me!

Granted, a request for a full isn’t a contract.  But it amazes me that someone would want to read the whole thing.  The. Whole.  Thing.  Woot!!!!

So, I sent it off to them and should hear back in the next couple of weeks.  I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll give me some good news.  Are you?

Love Defined ~ Submitted!

July 23rd, 2007 by Celia

Okay, start your praying engines.  I’ve subbed Love Defined to Samhain’s ‘On the Prowl’ anthology.  Cross your fingers and toes that I’ll have some good news on or before 8/19/07.  Competition will be stiff, but I’m keeping my hopes up that it will be accepted.

Here’s the blurb to give you a taste of Love Defined:

As a Child of Gaia, Mattias Kilgrey has the ability to shift from human to snow leopard at a whim.  Well, only if his goddess allows it.  Tired of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, he needs a break.  Contacting a friend, he snags a reservation at San Pallo Exotic Animal Sanctuary - as a snow leopard.  With Gaia’s help, he begins his not-so-brief vacation with nothing but relaxation on his mind.  But who would have guessed he’d meet his mate at the sanctuary?

Dr. Virginia Taylor jumps at the chance to help a snow leopard in need. If only she could find her glasses. Clumsy, quirky, and filled to the brim with love for big cats, she’s the answer to San Pallo’s prayers. What’s a girl to do when the snow leopard she’s called to help turns into a hunk she’d like to bed? Well, run of course. If only she’d stop tripping over herself at every turn.

Wish me luck!

Conversations with Se and Ce #1

July 19th, 2007 by Celia

I hope these convos will become a monthly thing. During Conversations with the Se (Selena Illyria) and Ce (ME!) we’ll be discussing various topics of interest. Today’s topic Porn Rules! Oh, I mean Porn Rules. Rules for the Porn.

Selena: Hey this is Selena and I’m here with my writing buddy Celia
Kyle. Say hi Ce!

Ce: This would work better on google talk. ;D Hey everybody! Know what time it is? Porn Rules! time. Oh, wait. We’re not talking about why it rocks are we… We’re discussing rules for porn. So, it should be: Porn Rules. Period. No exclamation point.

Se: LOL. Yeah, so it should be Porn Rules or how about Rules for
Porn? Too Boring?

Ce: I still like Porn Rules! We’ll just have to put up a little disclaimer telling people what we’re actually talking about. :D Ok, how about rules.

1. Do not look into the camera while f*cking. If we wanted to see a pretty face, we’d look in the mirror. We are not here for facial expressions people!

Se: I totally agree. I also feel it’s a bit vain ya know. Looking at
the camera as if to say I’m hot and look what I got going on. Not hot at all.

2. Talking during sex is a good thing. I mean if I wanted to hear just grunts and groans I’d watch tennis. *Se suddenly develops a very interesting take on tennis, she shakes her head* I don’t want to hear just “Oh, yeah”.” or “I’m coming.” Come on!

I want to hear the bad words, make it dirty! What do you think Ce?

Ce: Heck yeah! Talk dirty to me dammit! Do you need someone to write that part of the script for you too? Fine. Here it goes:

He slides his cock into you and you say: That’s it give me that big cock. Stuff me full of it baby.

Just as a side note: Don’t ever call a guy’s cock fat. That just brings cellulite infested cock images to mind and that’s just…gross. Ew!

I’m thankful for…

July 17th, 2007 by Celia

So, I’ve been a bit down lately. (Personal stuff) and Mistress Paz has recommended (demanded) that I write a list of things I’m thankful for.

Here is the beginning of my list:

1. I have a hubby that adores me to distraction and does everything for me. Literally. The man cleans, does laundry, gets me a chocolate chocolate chip muffin heated for twelve seconds in the microwave with a glass of milk… I mean it. Everything.

2. I have a family that, while they still can’t wrap their heads around what I write, are proud of the fact that I do write.

3. I have a contract on my first book, Wicked Shift, with Liquid Silver Books.

4. I just finished a short that I’m getting ready to sub to Samhain. (Just have the dreaded synopsis left)

5. Even though I’m a bit fluffy, I am in relatively good health.

6. I have amazing webby friends that look out for me and come knocking when I disappear for more than a day. They may come after me with a whip or flogger, but at least they care enough to come looking. :D Love you guys.

Well, that’s the list for now. I’ll add to it as I think of other things that I’m thankful for.

My Literary Red-Headed Step Child

July 16th, 2007 by Celia

Yep, I’ve got one. Do you? Do you have a story that you’ve spent so much time on that you actually dread working on it. But then there’s something inside you that won’t let you forget about the story.

My literary red-headed step child is Love of a Good Woman. I did good this time around though. I actually rewrote two whole chapters before moving on to something else. Go me!

So, now I’m working on Serve Me. The third short in my Kink and Karma series. The unnamed publisher that still has the first story in their hands for consideration is killing me. Don’t publishers know that authors are an impatient bunch? Grrr…

Anyway, I’ve also got a couple of other ms’s (<-is that right?) in the works. You can check my blog sidebar for my current WIP’s and where I’m at with them. The story you see up top that is actually finished? That’s my sub for Samhain’s ‘On the Prowl’ antho. Wish me luck! Only a couple more weeks before that bad boy is finished with the polishing and shipped off!

Rewrites

July 12th, 2007 by Celia

So, I’m in the middle (okay, beginning) of rewrites for Love of a Good Woman. (Check out my progress in the sidebar) All I can say is… WOW! I really sucked with that one. LOL I’m glad I’m going back to do the rewrites. Now that I’m in the story again, I remember how much I love it. It definitely deserves to be pubbed and see the light of day. If all goes according to plan, it will be done by the end of July. Sooner if I can swing it. If I manage a chapter every other day, it will be no problem. I’m also doing my damndest to get LGW to novel length. Ya know, just in case the pub it goes to wants to print it. ;) Gotta think ahead!!!

In other news… I subbed From the Office of Kink & Karma: Touch Me about a month ago and still no word. The submission guidelines at the pub said to expect a resopnse within 30 days and I’m counting them. If it doesn’t find a home at that pub, I’ll be searching for another. No big deal really… I’m just impatient as all get out.

The Dotted Line

July 10th, 2007 by Celia

I’ve signed on it! It wasn’t really dotted, but whatever. LOL

As of this past Sunday, I’m officially signed with Liquid Silver Books! Woot! Woot! From everything I’ve read, it seems Wicked Shift will probably be available in about four months. FOUR MONTHS!

This is surreal. When I started writing last year, I never thought I would get published. Now here I am, almost a year later, with one book contracted. Wow!
